FTC Teams #7236 and #9052

Our Mission
Build a Robot
Construct a working robot to compete in FIRST Tech Challenge.
Compete with Respect and Character
Excel in performance while displaying integrity and gracious professionalism.
Glorify God in all we do
Display Christ in our actions on and off the playing field (Colossians 3:23).
Team #7236 Recharged Robotics was created in 2013 for the FTC season Block Party. Starting out, we had 10 members. Soon, we grew so that we could start another team and split into Recharged Green and Recharged Orange. We have also expanded FIRST by helping start three other teams in the surrounding communities. Last season, Recharged Green advanced to the World Championship.
Here are some of the things we achieved while at the World Championships:
-
Developed the most reliable autonomous program in our 64 team division at the World Championship
-
Ranked as the most consistent shooter at the 2017 World Championships
-
Finished in the top 11 during qualifying matches at Worlds
-
Earned the first spot going into the Championship finals
-
Became the first team from the state of Iowa to ever compete in the semifinals at the World Championship
-
Placed in the top six with our engineering notebook
-
Received the opportunity to have a teammate represent all of FTC in front of 20,000 spectators at Worlds
As a fifth year team, we are focusing hard on the engineering design process to launch us to the next level. We are also actively engaged in outreach to professionals and students alike, enlarging the vision of FTC. We would not be where are today without the support of our mentors and parents. They guide us as we contemplate, construct, and communicate as a team.
We begin each season by analyzing the challenge, and brainstorming ideas on how to solve that challenge. Those ideas are sketched out on paper, and we choose to trystorm several designs we like best. If the prototype is a success, we apply the design to the robot; otherwise we test another design. We follow the engineering design process from start to finish, by defining the problem, brainstorming, prototyping, refining the model, and building the final robot.
